The composer
offers recordings of
performances via a PC
with the remarkably realistic sound of a full orchestra, choir and
organ as required
-- A tremendous educational resource --
Look what one composer / concert organizer in the U.S.A. has to say about the Composer's recordings:
| " | ...your MIDI realization techniques are superb. I have never heard PC realizations of works done so well (and in the course of my work I hear hundreds of MIDI tapes from composers.) As music director of the Invisible Philharmonic Orchestra, you do a fabulous job. What impresses me incredibly is that you have created all of these very major works without a notation package and just with a MIDI sequencer. -- Carson P. Cooman (Concert organizer, Composer, Pianist, Organist), Rochester, NY | " |
Even when there are commercial recordings of live performances, these recordings will still remain definitive ones, in that they demonstrate the Composer's intentions, and will be a 'must' as a primer for prospective performers of the music.
YES! They all* (just) fit on one CD as good quality (128 kb/s) MP3 files, whereas they required 11 discs as audio CDs. While the sound quality of the audio CDs is clearer and has a larger dynamic range, nowadays many people go for what they feel to be the greater convenience of MP3s. I now cater for that preference, and potentially save myself a lot of work, by offering just the CD-ROM of all the works for a postage-inclusive price of £16. All that listening is tremendous value for money. To the odd specific request, depending on my time availability, I may supply audio CDs of particular works.
* Except for the 10 short works extracted from certain of the main opus-number works
The CD-ROM doesn't have a printed label on the disc, and its case has only a very basic printed label (composer, title, track list) - but I include on the CD-ROM a full set of programme notes for all the works as a Word document which you can print out. The most up-to-date versions of the programme notes, however, are on this site, accessible from the list of works.
The price of my CDs is higher than I would like, especially with such basic presentation, but this relates to the amount of my time spent in producing the CDs individually, labelling them and their cases and packing them up for posting.
N.B. The quality of the MP3 files on this CD-ROM
is better than that of the MP3 files downloadable from this site.
All the works
are performed by the Invisible
Philharmonic
Orchestra and Choir,
or at least members thereof.
Organ works are played on the large or small organ of the Invisible Cathedral.
